Sports run deep in Harrisburg, and Central Dauphin High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Rams uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Central Dauphin High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.


1. Jeremy Linn – Olympic Swimmer

Former Ram Jeremy Linn developed into an elite breaststroke swimmer and went on to represent the United States in international competition, including the Olympic Games. Following his competitive career, he transitioned into coaching, working with Nation’s Capital Swimming and helping develop high-level swimmers at the club and national level. 2. Alyssa Thomas – WNBA Forward (Phoenix Mercury)

After an impressive turn at Central Dauphin High School, Alyssa Thomas rose to become one of the most accomplished players in women’s basketball, building a standout collegiate career before excelling in the WNBA. A multi-time WNBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist, she has represented the United States internationally while continuing her professional career with the Phoenix Mercury. 3. Ryan Whiting – World Champion Thrower

Central Dauphin High alumnus Ryan Whiting established himself as one of the world’s top shot putters, representing the United States on the global stage. 4. John Kreamer – Wrestling Hall-of-Famer

Former Ram John Kreamer built a distinguished wrestling career as both a competitor and coach, earning recognition for his technical skill and leadership in the sport. He became a multiple-time national champion at the collegiate level and later made significant contributions as a coach, helping develop championship-caliber wrestlers over several decades. 5. Micah Parsons – NFL Defensive End (Green Bay Packers)

Harrisburg's own Micah Parsons attended Central Dauphin High School during his freshman and sophomore years before transferring to Harrisburg High School. He went on to reach the NFL, where he established himself as one of the league’s most impactful defensive players and currently competes with the Green Bay Packers.
