2017 Primary Election: Haverford Township Results

HAVERFORD, PA – Surely you ventured out to your local polling place Tuesday for the 2017 primary election. Now that voting is over, it's time to look at Haverford Township's results.

There were a few races in the township that voters weighed in on: commissioner seats, school board seats, and the township auditor.

Four township commissioner seats are up for grabs this year, so let's look at results from those races:

  • 2nd Ward – Sheryl L. Forste-Grupp (D), 419 votes; Mario Oliva (R), 477 votes;
  • 4th Ward – Daniel Siegel (D), 565 votes; Kevin O'Neill (R), 259 votes;
  • 6th Ward – Larry Holmes (D), 788 votes; Carmie Del Pizza (R), 190 votes;
  • 8th Ward – Gerard Hart (D), 612; Chris Connell (R), 257 votes.

Another race was for township auditor. Democrat Ross Anderson earned 4,104 votes while Republican Jamie Welsh earned 2,237 votes.

Six vied for seats on the School District of Haverford Township board, all cross filing as Democrats and Republicans and voters were able to cast votes for four of the six candidates. We'll look at the breakdown by party.

Democrats:

  • Kristin Larsen – 3,659 votes;
  • Susan Mingey – 3,364 votes;
  • Philip R. Hopkins – 2,685 votes;
  • Sal Scinto – 2,310 votes.

Republicans:

  • Denis A. Gray – 1,748 votes;
  • Russel Bilotta – 1,646 votes;
  • Philip R. Hopkins – 1,352 votes;
  • Susan Mingey – 1,337 votes.
