2nd Man Hit With Prison Time In Delco Wawa Carjackings
Authorities said Jamar Miller acted as the wheelman in two separate carjackings at Delaware County Wawa stores in 2023.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — After a Delaware man was hit with more than 23 years in prison for Delaware County carjackings, his co-defendant was sentenced to nearly 16 years in prison for his role in the incidents.
United States Attorney Jacqueline C. Romero said Jamar Miller, 24, of Claymont, Delaware, was sentenced to 190 months in prison, as well as three years of supervised release.
He was also ordered to pay $1,919 in restitution, and a $500 special assessment for his role in two armed carjackings in Delaware County in January 2023.

In April 2023, Miller and Keenan Righter were each indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit carjacking, two counts of carjacking, and two counts of using or carrying a firearm during a crime of violence in connection with these carjackings.
Miller pleaded guilty to all the charges in March of this year.

In May, a federal jury convicted Righter on all counts; he was sentenced last week to 280 months in prison and five years of supervised release.
At about 9 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2023, Righter and others drove in Miller's car to a Wawa on Route 322 in Upper Chichester Township. Authorities said Miller pleaded guilty in relation to these incidents in March 2023 and is awaiting sentencing.
There, Righter and another man ambushed a 23-year-old college student who was walking to his car after leaving the store.
The men, each armed with guns and wearing masks, demanded the victim’s vehicle at gunpoint.
They pistol-whipped the victim in the back of the head and drove off in the victim’s car, with Miller following.
Ten days later on Jan. 24, 2023, Righter and another man drove in Miller’s car to a Wawa on Edgmont Avenue in Brookhaven at about 1:30 a.m.
The two wore masks and carried firearms as they carjacked a 33-year-old victim at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Wawa.
The men pistol-whipped the victim multiple times in the head with a firearm as they stole his belongings and fled the scene in his car. Miller again followed Righter in his vehicle.
Righter was taken into custody after an intensive investigation by FBI Philadelphia’s Newtown Square Resident Agency, in conjunction with the Brookhaven and Upper Chichester Police Departments. Digital forensic evidence and more linked Righter to both carjackings.
Righter was convicted by a jury in May of conspiracy, two counts of carjacking, and two counts of using or carrying a firearm during a crime of violence.
"Jamar Miller drove his co-conspirators to the crime scenes, watched as they violently carjacked two innocent people, and followed as they fled in the stolen vehicles," Romero said. "As his almost 16-year prison sentence shows, even a supporting role in a carjacking can lead to federal charges — and utterly life-changing consequences."
