4 Hurt In Wrong-Way Crash Involving Truck, SEPTA Bus In Haverford

A driver going the wrong way caused a crash that involved the tractor trailer, SEPTA bus, and other vehicles on West Chester Pike Tuesday.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Several people were hurt in a Tuesday evening crash in Haverford Township.

The crash occurred at about 7 p.m. Tuesday at West Chester Pike and North Eagle Road, according to the Manoa Fire Company.

Responders found numerous vehicles involved in the crash.

One of the vehicles involved was on top of a SEPTA bus and a tractor trailer, and the driver was entrapped, officials said.

Crews from Manoa and Oakmont fire companies, as well as Narberth Ambulance, worked to stabilize the vehicles and rescued the entrapped driver.

The driver was removed from the vehicle in about 20 minutes, according to the Manoa Fire Company.

According to Action News, the driver who was rescued may have suffered a medical emergency while driving and crossed over into oncoming traffic on West Chester Pike before striking other vehicles.

Four people were taken to hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries, Fox29 reports.

A total of five vehicles were involved in the crash, according to NBC10.

West Chester Pike was closed for about three hours as crews responded to the crash.
