DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Recent data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows good signs for Delaware County in terms of the coronavirus.

Data released Friday from the department shows all six of the key coronavirus metrics have dropped over the past seven days, continuing the trend of figures decreasing.

New confirmed cases went down from 671 to 419.

Average daily coronavirus hospitalizations saw a drop from 91.3 to 56.3.

The average number of daily coronavirus patients on ventilators went down from 13.1 to 7.9.

Delaware County's incidence rate per 100,000 people dropped from 118.4 to 73.9.

The county's positive testing rate went from 9.3 percent to 6.5 percent.

Lastly, the percent of people showing up to hospitals with coronavirus-like illnesses went down from 0.7 percent to 0.5 percent.

According to the state, 93,934 people have had coronavirus in Delaware County and 1,801 people have died from the virus.

To date, 350,071 people are fully vaccinated in Delaware County and 149,205 of them have received an additional dose since August 2021; 83,548 have received one dose of vaccine.
