Molly Lyons of Havertown donated her 3' by 4' painting 'Huckleberry Sunshine on My Block' to the Art Goes to School 50th Anniversary celebration which was held at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia on Sept 10th. Molly will finish her BFA degree from Temple's Tyler School of Art in December this year and hopes to teach art.
This is not the usual subject matter that Molly partakes in. Common things for her to paint would be portraits or paintings form photographs of interesting characters. This painting does not have a character but is more about the space, composition and color. Three figures are depicted here but are not the focus.
Art Goes to School of Delaware Valley would like to thank Molly for donating her time and talent to our great organization that teaches area elementary students how important art really is.
