Assault, Fraud, Theft, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

A scammer claiming to be from "Pioneer Tech Solutions" was able to get $10,000 from a Haverford resident, police said. See the blotter here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their latest crime blotter Thursday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between May 22 and May 28.

The blotter also features arrests made and citations issued.

  • Public Drunkenness at the 1000 block of Darby Road on May 22 at 7:56 a.m. – 37-year-old male, 400 block of Washington Avenue was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Theft at Chatham Park Elementary, 400 block of Allston Road, on May 22 at 6:42 p.m. – Electric Scooter was stolen.
  • Theft at Sunoco, 400 block of E. Township Line Road, on May 22 at 7:54 p.m. – Victim reported that an unknown male approached her and offered to pump her gas. The victim declined the offer and the actor continued to have a conversation with her. When the tank was full, he stated he would hang the pump up for her. The victim later discovered that and addition $51 worth of gas was charged to her credit card.
  • Theft at the 1600 block of Lawrence Road on May 22 at 6:38 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Bicycle Theft at Chatham Park, 400 block of Allston Road, on May 23 at 12:53 p.m.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Walnut Hill Lane on May 23 at 6:06 p.m. – Victim received a phone call from an unknown male claiming to be from "Pioneer Tech Solutions." He convinced the victim that she needed help with internet and phone security to protect from scammers. The victim sent the caller $10,000 to provide the service.
  • Identity Theft at the 600 block of Georges Lane on May 24 at 6:01 p.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a Kohl’s credit card account using her identity.
  • Theft at Hykle’s bar, 2700 block of County Line Road, on May 24 at 10:19 p.m. – iPhone was stolen while it was left unattended at the bar.
  • Theft at the ESF Inc., 700 block of Haverford Road, on May 24 at 10:51 a.m. – The business owner reported that he has experienced unusually large and suspicious expenditures for $1,600 since the beginning of the year.
  • Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on May 24 at 8:33 p.m. – Victim reported that a lock was stolen from a locker and a firearm was taken from a bag.
  • Bicycle Theft at Sacred Heart School, 100 block of N. Manoa Road, on May 24 at 11:57 a.m.
  • Liquor Law Violation at Darby Road and Marthart Avenue on May 25 at 11:56 p.m. – 18-year-old female was cited for underage drinking.
  • Criminal Mischief at Barnaby’s, 1900 block of Old West Chester Pike, on May 28 at 12:40 p.m. – Vehicle tire was punctured.
  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of Ivy Rock Lane on May 28 at 6:45 p.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a Target credit card account using his identity.
  • Retail Theft at Getty Service Station, 500 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on May 28 at 10:25 a.m. – Store manager reported that an unknown juvenile stole a vape pen valued at $26.99.
  • Disorderly Conduct at Kathmere and Edgewood Roads on May 28 at 10 p.m. – 63-year-old male, 600 block of Lawson Avenue was cited for disorderly conduct, harassment and criminal mischief.

  • 46-year-old male, 2600 block of Tremont Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Warrant. Location: Barnaby’s, 1900 block of Old West Chester Pike. Date: May 24 at 8:11 p.m.
  • 37-year-old male, 1100 block of Garfield Avenue, Havertown. Charges: Simple assault, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: 1100 block of Garfield Avenue. Date: May 27 at 9:06 p.m.
  • 55-year-old male, unit block of Shirley Road, Narberth. Charges: Simple assault, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and harassment. Location: Kathmere and Edgewood Roads. Date: May 28 at 10 p.m.
