HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Haverford Police released information on crimes that occurred in the township recently.

These incidents occurred between Jan. 22 and Jan. 27.

The blotter also features recent arrests and the number of citations issued.

  • Fraud at the 200 block of Shawnee Road on Jan. 22 at 6:21 p.m. – The victim reported that he received a pop up on his computer that claimed his computer was hacked. He called the number and was convinced that his bank account was compromised and that he needed to send $10,000 via Bitcoin to resolve the issue. After sending the money, he realized it was a scam.
  • Fraud at the unit block of S. Eagle Road on Jan. 22 at 1:51 p.m. – The victim received a phone call from a person claiming to be from Apple. They advised her that she owed money and needed to transfer funds via gift card. The victim purchased and transferred $500 worth of gift cards before recognizing the scam.
  • Fraud at the 1900 block of Lawrence Road on Jan. 23 at 1:36 p.m. – The victim reported that she purchased a money order from Western Union in Acme. The money order was purchased for $300 and made out to Waterford Apartments. Waterford Apartments was told that the money order had already been cashed when they attempted to deposit it.
  • Identity Theft at the 1300 block of Sunny Hill Lane on Jan. 23 at 2:51 p.m. – The victim reported that someone used his identity to attempt to open an auto loan.
  • Public Drunkenness at the 200 block of Washington Avenue on Jan. 24 at 1:31 p.m. – 57-year-old male, 100 block of Lincoln Avenue was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Jan. 27 at 4:27 p.m. – Two unknown males stole $1051.73 worth of Monster energy drinks and Osteo Bi-Flex.

  • 43-year-old female, 400 block of Mechanic Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Jan. 21 at 4:37 p.m.
  • 41-year-old male, 2700 block of Harold Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Warrant. Location: West Chester Pike and North Eagle Road. Date: Jan. 21 at 9:21 a.m.
  • 45-year-old male, unit block of Central Avenue, Souderton. Charges: Simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats and harassment. Location: 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue. Date: Jan. 24 at 2:59 a.m.
