Barnaby's In Havertown Reopens After May Fire
The May 7 fire tore through the local establishment, but like a phoenix, the area favorite has emerged from the ashes.
HAVERTOWN, PA – Months after a cigar butt started a fire that tore through Barnaby's in Havertown, the local watering hole has reopened to cheers from its patrons.
The established officials welcomed the public back inside on Sept. 3 after the May 7 blaze left much of the Old West Chester Pike establishment destroyed.
The fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday, May 7 when a discarded cigar, still smouldering, ignited a fire in some mulch, which then spread to the building's deck and ultimately the building itself. Luckily, the building was not a total loss, which paved the way for its Sept. 3 reopening.
