'Best Hoagie On Earth' Is Right Here In Delaware County

BROOKHAVEN, PA — If you're looking for the best hoagie on the planet, Delaware County is the place to be.

At least that's according to Food Network Magazine.

The publication recently named Phil & Jim's Steaks & Hoagie in Brookhaven as having the "best hoagie on Earth."

Located at 2905 Edgmont Ave. in Brookhaven, the longtime steak and hoagie purveyors were lauded for the Italian Special sandwich.

The now legendary hoagie is a foot long features ham, hot Capocollo, Genoa salami and provolone cheese, peppered ham, onions, tomatoes, pickles, lettuce, oil, oregano, and sweet or hot peppers.

Sounds delicious to us.

Phil & Jim's has been slinging sandwiches and steaks since way back in the day, opening in 1962 as Phil & Jim's Delicatessen in Parkside.

The shop is now owned by cousins Costa and Dan Miller, who grew up locally and worked at Phil & Jim's in the 80s and 90s.

It is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
