Boyfriend Fatally Shot Pregnant Girlfriend In Delco: Police

A pregnant woman was fatally shot in Delaware County last week. The baby survived, but now the victim's boyfriend is charged with homicide.

LANSDOWNE, PA — After a pregnant woman was fatally shot in Delaware County last week, her baby miraculously surviving, authorities have charged her boyfriend in the killing.

Lansdowne Police said Kaiheem Jerelle Williams, 19, of Lansdowne, has been arrested and charged.

Williams is accused of shooting his girlfriend, who was about eight months pregnant, Friday on the 200 block of North Wycombe Avenue in Lansdowne. Williams and the victim lived together, police said.

The Delaware County Daily Times reports the victim has been identified as Taniyah Bell.

Police were called to the area for a report of a shooting and found a pregnant woman who was shot.

The woman, police said, was about 8 months pregnant and was pronounced dead at the scene.
She was taken to a hospital, where medical professionals delivered the unborn child, police said.

The child is in critical condition as of Friday, according to police.

Authorities detained the person who called 911 Friday.

Williams is charged with criminal homicide, first-degree murder, third-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, and possession of an instrument of crime, court records show.

He was denied bail and is scheduled for a Nov. 26 preliminary hearing.

"The arrest of Kaiheem Williams is a testament to the relentless determination of our officers and the CID Detectives," Lansdowne Police Chief Ken Rutherford said. "Their hard work has brought us one step closer to justice for the victim and her family."
