Burglary, Assault, Theft, Fraud, More: Haverford Crime Blotter
Haverford Police said a township resident who was the victim of identity theft had $127,623 withdrawn from their bank over three months.
HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford issued detail on recent crimes in the township.

Incidents
- Theft at the 3300 block of Darby Road on Jan. 8 at 11:48 a.m. – The victim’s son reported that his father received a call from a person claiming to be from Apple. The caller stated that he owed $31,500 in cash to them. The victim withdrew the cash from his account and was then told to go to a Bitcoin machine and make the deposit.
- Burglary at the 700 block of E. Manoa Road on Jan. 12 at 4:27 p.m. – Victim reported that three of his vehicles and his shed were entered. Loose change and a flat screen television were stolen.
- Theft at the 100 block of Signal Road on Jan. 12 at 11:49 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered - $120 worth of gift cards were stolen.
- Theft at the 100 block of Shawnee Road on Jan. 13 at 3:20 p.m. – Victim reported that a person known to her stole $200 from her purse and made multiple unauthorized purchases with her credit card.
- Retail Theft at Acme, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on Jan. 13 at 5:11 p.m. – An unknown male stole approximately $100 worth of groceries.
- Attempted Theft at the 200 block of Warrior Road on Jan. 13 at 7:57 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
- Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on Jan. 14 at 8:20 p.m. – A North Face coat valued at $300 was stolen from an unsecured locker.
- Retail Theft at Acme, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on Jan. 14 at 2:33 p.m. – An unknown male and female attempted to steal $742.63 worth of groceries.
- Theft at the 500 block of Greenview Lane on Jan. 14 at 6:59 p.m. – Victim reported multiple fraudulent charges on five different credit cards.
- Identity Theft at the 800 block of Cricket Avenue on Jan. 14 at 4:50 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a Verizon account and purchases four iPhones.
- Theft at the 200 block of Belfield Avenue on Jan. 14 at 1:13 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – driver’s license and personal effects were stolen.
- Theft at the 100 block of Clamar Avenue on Jan. 14 at 8:44 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
- Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on Jan. 14 at 8:19 a.m. – Loss Prevention Officer reported that the same unknown male stole $154.07 worth of groceries on Jan. 5 and $136.49 worth of groceries on Jan. 6.
- Identity Theft at the 300 block of Highland Lane on Jan. 15 at 1:59 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to withdraw $2,000 from his bank account and cashed two fraudulent checks.
- Identity Theft at the 2400 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue on Jan. 16 at 12:20 a.m. – Victim reported that someone applied for a loan using his identity.
- Theft at the 400 block of Harrington Road on Jan. 16 at 9:48 a.m. – Victim received a phone call from a person claiming to be from his bank. They told him they found fraudulent charges on his account and requested PIN verification from him. The following day, the victim went to his bank and was told they did not contact him. Ten unauthorized purchases were made, totaling $4,896.47.
- Fraud at the 1700 block of Earlington Road on Jan. 17 at 6:24 p.m. – An unknown actor gained access to the victim’s bank account and withdrew $6,620.41.
- Identity Theft at the 400 block of Valley Road on Jan. 17 at 12:33 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to withdraw $127,623 over three months.
- Theft at the unit block of Strathmore Road on Jan. 17 at 7:08 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered - $70 and a laptop was stolen.
- Identity Theft at the 100 block of Juniper Road on Jan. 18 at 1:25 p.m. – An unknown actor gained access to the victim’s checking and savings account and withdrew $8,000.
- Theft at the unit block of Mifflin Avenue on Jan. 18 at 9:36 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – a backpack containing a laptop was stolen.
- Identity Theft at Saint Paul's Syrian Orthodox Church, unit block of Glendale Road, on Jan. 20 at 11:59 a.m. – The victim reported that someone purchased a cell phone using the Church’s AT&T account without his permission or knowledge.
- Retail Theft at Acme, 600 block of W. Lancaster Avenue, on Jan. 2o at 11:16 a.m. – An unknown male stole numerous medical supplies valued at $691.
- Theft at the 1200 block of West Chester Pike on Jan. 21 at 1:30 p.m.– The victim reported an unauthorized withdraw in the amount of $9,136 was made from his company’s bank account.

- 39-year-old male, 2000 block of Darby Road, Havertown. Charges: Simple assault and harassment. Location: 2000 block of Darby Road. Date: Jan. 10 at 9:35 p.m.
- 40-year-old male, 4000 block of Fox Mill Drive, Boothwyn. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Jan. 11 at 5:10 p.m.
- 35-year-old male, 500 block of Market Street, Marcus Hook. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Jan. 11 at 5:10 p.m.
- 47-year-old male, unit block of Springton Road, Upper Darby. Charges: DUI, careless driving, suspended driver’s license, no insurance or registration. Location: Darby Road and College Avenue. Date: Jan. 9 at 11:12 a.m.
- 41-year-old male, 5200 block of Oakland Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Jan. 13 at 2:39 p.m.
- 57-year-old male, unit block of Melvern Road, Abington, Massachusetts. Charges: Identity theft, forgery, theft by unlawful taking and possessing access device knowing its counterfeit. Location: WSFS, 1200 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: Jan. 15 at 2:20 p.m.
