Cabrini College Professor Killed Crossing Lancaster Ave.

David Dunbar, who taught biology at Cabrini College, was killed Saturday night crossing Lancaster Avenue.

A Cabrini College biology professor was killed crossing Lancaster Avenue Saturday night in Radnor, according to multiple reports.

David Dunbar, 51, was crossing the road around 9 p.m. near the movie theater at Wayne Avenue when he was fatally struck, the Inquirer reported. He was not in a crosswalk at the time, the report said.

It was dark and rainy, authorities said, and the driver did not see Dunbar. The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, 6ABC reported.

According to his biography on the Cabrini College website, Dunbar, a father of three, was involved in several community service initiatives.

"His primary undertaking is encouraging involvement of Cabrini students in restoring Valley Creek and its major tributaries, as well as educating local communities about the Valley Creek watershed. He also participates in the Special Olympics Eastern Regional with Cabrini Honor students every January," his biography says.

He was a resident of Reading. He cited his favorite hobbies as fishing and stock-car racing.
