Police in Haverford Township offered a few tips for vehicle owners as catalytic converters continue to be the target of thieves.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — A spate of catalytic converter thefts in the region has led Haverford Township Police to offer up theft prevention tips for vehicle owners.

According to Haverford Police, catalytic converter thieves have been targeting Volkswagen vehicles in the region lately.

Police said the catalytic converter thefts occur overnight, typically.

Some ways to avoid potentially becoming a victim of these thieves are to park in well-lit areas, park in garages or deep into a driveway, and calibrate car alarms to detect vibrations.

These thefts have occurred most recently on the 2100 block of County Line Road on March 20 and the unit block of Downs Circle on March 21, according to Haverford Police.
