Cigarette Eyed As Cause Of Barnaby's Fire: Report
The establishment in Havertown was engulfed in flames early Sunday morning and officials believe a tossed cigarette is the culprit.
HAVERTOWN, PA – After a fire tore through Barnaby's on West Chester Pike in Havertown early Sunday morning, township officials have narrowed down what may have caused the fire. Officials says a lit cigarette tossed in mulch is likely to blame.
According to Philly.com, Haverford Township Police Chief John Viola said the tossed butt likely smouldered in mulch before actually igniting.
He told the outlet that employees have had to put out small mulch smoulders in the past that started from tossed cigarettes.
