Contactless Pickup Available At Delco Libraries

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Calling all Delco bookworms: the county's libraries are now offering contactless pickup for library materials.

Many county libraries are making books and other materials available via contactless pickup after being closed for weeks due to the coronavirus.

Patrons can call or email a library that owns the items that they would like to request. Staff will then pull the items, check them out, and make them available for pickup in a contactless manner.

Below is a full list of each library’s procedures, hours, and opening dates, and more:

Aston Public Library - Open Friday, June 5:

Collingdale Public Library - Open Friday, June 5:
• The library will be closed until the completion of construction.

Darby Free Library - Open Friday, June 5:
• Contact the library directly for reopening information.

Folcroft Public Library - Open Monday, June 15:
• Contactless pickup — Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

• Contactless pickup — Tuesday, Wednesday 10 a.m. to7 p.m., Thursday, Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. will be reserved for high risk individuals.

Patrons are asked to wear masks and practice social distancing at all times when picking up materials. Ebooks and audiobooks continue to be available and libraries will still hold virtual programming.

Computer usage is unavailable at most locations as library buildings are still closed.
