Coronavirus Cases Nearing 13,000 In Delaware County
Almost 13,000 Delaware County residents have or have had the coronavirus as of Friday. See details on the county's coronavirus impact here.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The coronavirus case count total in Delaware County is nearing 13,000 and coronavirus deaths have surpassed 800.
As of Friday, Delaware County has seen 12,976 cases of the virus since the start of the pandemic.
Residents age 20 to 29 account for the highest number of cases with 2,407 to date.

Of the 12,976 cases, 2,721 have been nursing home or long term care facility residents.
Twenty-two of the county's 62 nursing homes and long term care facilities have active outbreaks of the coronavirus as of Friday, according to the latest data.

Below are case counts by age range:
- 10 and under — 259
- 10 to 19 — 1,068
- 20 to 29 — 2,407
- 30 to 39 — 1,768
- 40 to 49 — 1,698
- 50 to 59 — 1,980
- 60 to 69 —1,551
- 70 to 79 — 923
- 80 and older — 1,321
Men account for 44.34 percent of cases and women account for 55.66 percent of cases.
Delaware County has a coronavirus recovery rate of 81.65 percent and has received 126,230 negative test results to date.
However, 808 residents have died from the virus as of Friday.
Of those 808 deaths, 619 have been nursing home or long term care facility residents. That figure represents for 76.6 percent of all coronavirus deaths in the county.

Of the 619 nursing home and long term care facility deaths, 41.84 percent have been men and 58.16 percent have been women.
