DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — New date on the coronavirus's impact in Delaware County shows positive trends after weeks of increasing cases, hospitalizations, and more.
The latest data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health shows three of the six key metrics have decreased. Two others saw increases and one remained the same.
Newly reported cases went down from 699 last week to 643 this week.

The incidence rate per 100,000 also dropped; last week's figure was 123.3 and this week's figure is 113.5.
Average daily hospitalizations also saw a decrease. This week, an average of 38.4 people are hospitalized with the virus, which is down from an average of 38.4.

While hospitalizations went down, ventilator use went up.
This week saw an average of 4 daily patients on ventilators, up from an average of 2.9 last week.
The county's positive testing rate ticked up slightly from 6.1 percent last week to 6.4 percent this week.
And lastly, the percent of people showing up to emergency rooms with coronavirus like illnesses remained the same at 1.3 percent.
As of Friday, 289,047 people in Delaware County have been full vaccinated; 33,746 have been partially vaccinated.
The county has had 48,796 confirmed cases of the virus, and 1,440 virus related deaths to date.
