COVID Metrics Continue To Drop In Delaware County

Data continues to show the coronavirus's presence in Delaware County is waning. See the latest data from the state here.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health continues to show positive trends in Delaware County in terms of the coronavirus.

Data released Friday shows five of the six key coronavirus metrics have decreased again.

The only metric to increase was the percent of people showing up to hospital emergency rooms with coronavirus-like illnesses, which increased from 0.5 percent to 0.8 percent.

New cases decreased from 421 to 325.

The county's incidence rate per 100,000 people also went down from 74.3 to 57.3.

Average daily coronavirus specific hospitalizations decreased from 56.3 to 33.4.

Additionally, average daily coronavirus patients who are on ventilators went from 7.9 to 3.9.

Delaware County's positive testing rate decreased to 4.7 percent, down from 6.5 percent.

As of Friday, Delaware County has seen 94,277 confirmed cases of the virus and 1,819 coronavirus-related deaths, according to state data.

As for vaccinations, 351,175 Delaware County residents are fully vaccinated, 83,350 have received at least one dose, and 150,433 have received an additional dose since August 2021, state data shows.
