Declo Daycare Worker Caught On Video Pushing Child Down Stairs: Cops

The worker was fired and is facing several charges after the Friday afternoon incident.

A daycare worker in Delaware County is facing charges after a security camera caught her pushing a young child down a flight of stairs.

Sarah Gable, 52, of Folcroft, Pennsylvania, was charged with simple assault, harassment, and endangering the welfare of ac hid, court records show.

Gable was released on $25,000 unsecured bail after being arraigned March 4 and will appear before Judge Kelly A. Micozzie-Aguirre on March 16 for her preliminary hearing.

According to reports, Gable pushed the child down a small flight of stairs the afternoon of Friday, March 3 at Childcare of the Future in Clifton Heights.

6ABC reports the camera that caught the push was installed just about a half hour before the incident occurred.

After pushing the child, Gable looks directly into the security camera.

Child Care of the Future manager Shawayne Tavares, told NBC10 she witnessed the entire incident unfold as it happened via the security camera.

"I was so upset. I had tears in my eyes," Tavares told the outlet. "(Gable) picked up the shoe and tried to come to the end of the stairs like, 'Oh, it was her shoe' that caused her to fall."

NBC reports the child suffered a minor knee injury and the Gable was fired from the daycare center.

Upper Darby Police said the incident was "a truly horrible act."
