Delco Democratic Committee Endorses Trombetta Over Vitali In 166th District Primary

Rep. Greg Vitali has held the seat for 33 years, and Judy Trombetta is campaigning on bringing a new voice for the residents.

HAVERFORD, PA — The Delaware County Democratic Committee has endorsed Judy Trombetta over incumbent Greg Vitali in the primary race for the 166th District seat.

Trombetta's campaign announced the endorsement Wednesday.

"This endorsement is a powerful vote of confidence in our campaign and in the vision we’re building together for Haverford and Marple," Trombetta said. "Our district deserves strong Democratic leadership that listens, shows up, and works collaboratively to meet the challenges ahead. I’m excited to continue connecting with voters as we head toward May 19."

At the party's endorsement convention, Trombetta secured 88.5 percent of the vote from committee members who participated in the convention.

Vitali has held the seat for 33 years, and Trombetta is campaigning on bringing a new voice for the residents in the district, which covers Haverford and Marple townships.

As she moves forward, Trombetta will need at least 300 signatures to qualify for the ballot. To do so, she will be hosting a series of petition parties across the district to boost engagement.
