Delco Health Board To Vote On First Health Director Thursday
The five-member Board of Health will consider appointing the county's very first Health Director during a special meeting Thursday.
DELAWAWRE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County's Board of Health Thursday will hold a special meeting to consider the approval of the county's firsy Health Director.
The meeting will convene at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Council Public Meeting Room on the first floor of the Government Center Building, 201 W. Front Street in Media.
Delaware County's Health Director will prepare for the opening of the Health Department in January 2022 and will lead the Health Department’s local experts focused on the improvement of health, safety, and quality of life of Delaware County residents using local data, resources, and service partners.

The leadership will ensure accountability and collaboration that will improve health equity for all its residents to build a healthy, thriving, and stronger Delaware County.

Members of the Board of Health are Rosemarie Halt, MPH, RPh; Y. Lily Higgins, MD, MS, MBA ; Patrick J. Brennan, MD; Annemarie Hirsch, PhD, MPH; and Oni Richards.
The board is tasked with appointing a health director for Delaware County, who they will advise on various matters. They also create rules and regulations for the prevention of disease, for the prevention and removal of conditions which constitute a menace to health, and for the promotion and preservation of the public health generally, subject to County Council approval.
