Delco Homicide Suspect Caught By US Marshals In Delaware: Feds

CHESTER, PA — A man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting near Widener University in Delaware County has been taken into custody by federal authorities.

Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force took Jihad Perry, 43, into custody at about 11:30 a.m. Monday in New Castle County, Delaware for criminal homicide and Pennsylvania State Parole violations, authorities said.

Perry was wanted for a shooting that occurred on May 5 on the 1100 block of Hyatt Street in Chester Pennsylvania.

The victim, Robert Dungee, was found a few blocks away on the campus of Widener University.

A warrant was issued for Perry on May 6.

The case was immediately referred to members of the Eastern Pennsylvania U.S. Marshal’s Violent Crime Fugitive Task Force located in Philadelphia.

Authorities learned Perry may have been in Delaware seeing a family member, and a search warrant was obtained for a property in Claymont, Delaware.

With the assistance from Federal Marshals in the District of Delaware as well as the New Castle County SWAT team, Perry was taken into custody without incident, authorities said.

Perry was taken to the New Castle County jail for processing and was charged as a "Fugitive of
Justice."

He is awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.

This fugitive investigation was a joint effort by the U.S. Marshals Eastern Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force, the First State Fugitive Task Force in Delaware, Chester City Police Department, Delaware County CID, Pennsylvania State Parole, and the New Castle County SWAT team.
