Delco Hosting Flu Shot Clinics Throughout October

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Delaware County's Department of Intercommunity Health will be offering flue shots to all residents 3 and older throughout October as flu season begins.

Clinics are being held in Essington, Media, and Broomall. Full clinic details are listed below.

The county's clinics will be drive-thru formats, which provide a safe and convenient process for residents to get vaccinated for the upcoming flu season.

The drive-through format is especially safe and more convenient for older residents, those with disabilities, parents with small children, and those who may be immunocompromised and continue to exercise an abundance of caution during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

No insurance is required, and no appointments are necessary.

Below are clinic details:

• Thursday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Tinicum Fire Company located at 99 Wanamaker Ave., Essington, PA 19029.
• Friday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Middletown Fire Company located at 425 S. New Middletown Road, Media, PA 19063.
• Thursday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., — Broomall Fire Company located at 1 N. Malin Road, Broomall, PA 19008.

Only the Fluzone Quadrivalent Influenza vaccine will be used – high dose vaccines for residents 65 years of age and older will not be available.

Residents must wear a mask/face covering to the flu clinic and are asked to wear short sleeves to ensure that shots can be administered easily. In the event of inclement weather, please be aware that the flu clinic may be canceled.
