Delco Offering Coronavirus Testing For Residents 12 And Older

Testing is available free of charge for residents who do not have health insurance three days this week in Sharon Hill.

SHARON HILL, PA — As Delaware County continues to battle the coronavirus, officials are offering three days of testing in Sharon Hill Borough.

The county is opening a public testing site in Sharon Hill where residents can get drive-thru and walk-up coronavirus tests.

Testing is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., noon to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Academy Park High School, 300 Calcon Hook Road in Sharon Hill.

Residents 12 and older can get tested.

Critical and essential workforce — including first responders, healthcare system employees, grocery workers — and those at higher risk, including residents over the age of 65 and those with pre-existing health conditions, will be given priority.

Testing will be conducted by trained medical staff utilizing a nasal swab (PCR) test kit. Testing is free of charge for residents without health insurance.

There are no out-of-pocket fees or co-pays for residents with private or public health insurance. Please bring your insurance card to the testing site.

Upon arrival, residents will need to complete a registration form and a consent form.

Test results will take up to five to seven business days and will be sent by mail. Residents who test positive will also receive a call from the Chester County Health Department.

Residents are asked to wear a mask/face covering.
