Delco Walmart Employee Shot During Customer Dispute: Police

GLENOLDEN, PA — A Walmart employee was shot Friday after an argument between two customers ended in gunfire, police said.

According to Darby Township police, officers were called to the Walmart on North MacDade Boulevard around 7 p.m. Friday to after receiving reports of a shooting.

Officers, along with surrounding law enforcement agencies, quickly determined the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two customers.

Police said there is no ongoing threat to the public, and the investigation remains active.

According to reports by Action News and CBS Philadelphia, investigators believe the two men began arguing inside the store before one of them pulled out a gun and fired between five and 10 shots.

A female Walmart employee, who was not involved in the dispute, was struck in the calf and taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The gunman fled before officers arrived and remained at large as of Saturday morning, Action News reported.
