Delco Woman Had Sexual Relationship With Chesco Teen: DA
Thornton's Stefanie Dunne, who was a Chesco high school resource officer, was caught in the backseat of a car with a student, police said.

THORNTON, PA — A Delaware County woman who was school resource officer at a Chester County high school has been arrested after authorities said she carried on an inappropriate relationship with a student at that school.
Stefanie Dunne, 44, of Thornton, has been charged with corruption of minors, the Chester County District Attorney's Office said.
Dunne, a former police officer who was serving as Downingtown West High School's resource officer, met the victim when he was in ninth grade, the DA's office said.

Dunne communicated with the victim via SnapChat and text message, and included numerous messages including sexual innuendo and indicating plans for a sexual relationship.
In addition, Dunne sent numerous lewd photographs to the victim, authorities said. All told, there were some six thousand text messages between them dating back to May 2018.

On May 4, 2019, Dunne was caught with the 17-year-old victim in the back of a parked car in a secluded part of Upper Uwchlan Township, police said. That incident spurred the ensuring investigation that led to Dunne's arrest.
Dunne was taken into custody on Tuesday, July 30 and bail was set at $50,000. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 11.
