Delco's Coronavirus Recovery Rate Surpasses 82 Percent

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Six month into the coronavirus pandemic, and Delaware County is boasting a more than 80 percent recovery rate.

According to the latest data provided by Chester County, Delaware County's coronavirus recovery rate is 82.13 percent.

To date, the county has recorded 10,852 positive cases of the virus.

However, 165,417 negative test results have come back in Delaware County as of Friday.

Of the 10,852 cases, 2,671 have been nursing home or long term care facility residents.

Below is a breakdown of Delaware County coronavirus case counts by age group:

• 10 and under — 173
• 10 to 19 — 762
• 20 to 29 — 1,879
• 30 to 39 — 1,491
• 40 to 49 — 1,415
• 50 to 59 — 1,678
• 60 to 69 —1,344
• 70 to 79 — 827
• 80 and older — 1,282

Additionally, nursing home and long term care facility residents account for 77 percent of all coronavirus-related deaths in the county.

Delaware County has had a total of 780 deaths, and 604 of those have been nursing home or long term care facility residents.

Of those deaths, 57.78 percent have been women and 42.22 have been men.
