Drugs, Fraud, Theft, More: Haverford Crime Blotter

Police said a resident gave a contractor a $5,000 check for work to be done, but the contractor cashed the check and blocked her number.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township released details on about a month's worth of crime incidents recently.

Incidents in the latest blotter occurred between July 10 and Aug. 5.

The blotter also features arrests made and citations issued.

  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Rodmor Road on July 10 at 6:26 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to apply for social security benefits.
  • Public Drunkenness at Haverford Road and Ardmore Avenue on July 10 at 4:21 a.m. – A juvenile male was cited for public drunkenness, underage drinking and curfew hours for minor.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike on July 12 at 1:49 p.m. – An unknown female stole approximately $400 worth of merchandise.
  • Theft at the unit block of Morgan Avenue on July 13 at 3:12 p.m. – Victim reported jewelry and valuable dishes stolen from her residence.
  • Attempted Theft at the 700 block of Beechwood Drive on July 14 at 7:50 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the 700 block of Homestead Avenue on July 14 at 10:22 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered - $200 was reported stolen.
  • Theft at the 700 block of Beechwood Drive on July 14 at 8:32 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – a diaper bag and Apple airpods were stolen.
  • Motor Vehicle Theft at the 400 block of Brookline Boulevard on July 15 at 3:49 p.m.
  • Theft at the 1400 block of Maryland Avenue on July 15 at 12:51 p.m. – Vehicle was entered – loose change and RayBan sunglasses were stolen.
  • Attempted Theft at the 1700 block of Tyson Road on July 15 at 2:52 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing,

  • Theft at the unit block of E. Park Road on July 17 at 4:06 p.m. – Vehicle window was broken out along with the steering column being ripped open.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike on July 17 at 11:42 a.m. – An unknown female stole $40 worth of crab legs.
  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of Valley Ridge Road on July 18 at 5:37 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to take out a car loan and attempted to open a credit card account.
  • Identity Theft at the 1800 block of Lynnewood Drive on July 18 at 3:31 p.m. – Victim reported that someone took out a loan using his identity.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike on July 18 at 11:20 a.m. – Two unknown males stole a trash bag filled with merchandise.
  • Bicycle Theft at the unit block of Darby Road on July 19 at 5:53 p.m.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road on July 19 at 10:13 a.m. – An unknown female stole $143.13 worth of merchandise.
  • Retail Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road on July 19 at 8:54 a.m. – An unknown female stole $460.63 worth of groceries.
  • Theft at the unit block of Greenview Lane on July 20 at 10 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at Greenview Lane and Vincent Road on July 20 at 9:54 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the 300 block of Greenview Lane on July 20 at 9:27 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered - $28 was stolen.
  • Theft at the 300 block of Greenview Lane on July 20 at 9:40 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Bicycle Theft at the 400 block of Olympic Avenue on July 20 at 7:57 p.m.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 400 block of E. Eagle Road on July 21 at 10:34 a.m. – The stonework was observed to have been spray-painted with gold paint.
  • Retail Theft at Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike on July 21 at 1:19 p.m. – An unknown male and female filled a baby stroller with $300 worth of groceries and fled the store.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 400 block of Pilgrim Lane on July 22 at 2:52 p.m. – Two windows and four screens were damaged on the ground floor.
  • Forgery at the 100 block of Tunbridge Road on July 22 at 2:22 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Retail Theft at Wawa, 1000 block of Darby Road on July 22 at 10:06 p.m. – An unknown juvenile male stole beverages and food items.
  • Theft at the 200 block of David Drive on July 23 at 7:08 a.m. – Vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the 200 block of David Drive on July 23 at 1:47 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – $100 was stolen from the glove box.
  • Bicycle Theft at the 200 block of Strathmore Road on July 23 at 12:26 p.m.
  • Theft at the 200 block of David Drive on July 23 at 6:51 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered - $20 was stolen from the center console.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Yale Road on July 24 at 11:37 a.m. – Victim received a phone call from an unknown subject claiming they worked for “Genetic Labs”. They advised the victim they needed to confirm her personal information for billing purposes. The victim provided the information before recognizing the scam.
  • Retail Theft at Wawa, 1000 block of Darby Road on July 25 at 7:40 p.m. – Two unknown males stole approximately $15 worth of candy and drinks.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike on July 25 at 11:51 a.m. – An unknown male stole $852.49 worth of merchandise.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Treaty Road on July 26 at 12:29 p.m. – Vehicle’s registration and insurance cards were stolen from a vehicle.
  • Public Drunkenness at the 600 block of N. Eagle Road on July 27 at 2:53 a.m. – 21-year-old male, 200 block of Elm Court, North Wales and 22-year-old male, 300 block of Royal Avenue, North Wales, were cited for public drunkenness.
  • Theft at Wawa, 1000 block of Darby Road on July 29 at 8:42 p.m. – Four unknown males stole approximately $50 worth of merchandise.
  • Theft at the 400 block of Glendale Road on July 29 at 5:13 p.m. – Victim reported that she hired a contractor to make repairs. She provided him with a cashier’s check for $5,000. The contractor cashed the check and blocked her phone number.
  • Retail Theft at Wine and Spirits, 1300 block of West Chester Pike on July 29 at 2:35 p.m. – An unknown male and female stole $179.99 worth of alcohol. Motor Vehicle Theft at the 1500 block of Robinson Avenue on July 30 at 0657 hours.
  • Theft at the 1600 block of Melrose Avenue on July 30 at 3:10 p.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – approximately $100 worth of gift cards was stolen.
  • Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road on July 30 at 2:40 p.m. – Basketball was stolen
  • Identity Theft in the 400 block of Brookline Blvd. on July 31 1:21 p.m. – victim states that an unknown user opened a bank account in her name.
  • Forgery at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road on Aug. 1 at 12:16 p.m. – store manager that an unknown subject made payment on a purchase using a counterfeit $100 bill.
  • Identity Theft in the unit block of Haverford Road on Aug. 2 at 1:24 p.m. – an unknown actor purchased an airline ticket using the victim’s personal information.
  • Disorderly Conduct in the unit block of Ralston Avenue on Aug. 4 at 5:42 p.m. – a 57-year-old male, unit block of Morton Avenue, Ridley was parked was cited for disorderly conduct and harassment.
  • Identity Theft in the 700 block of Ardmore Avenue on Aug. 4 at 4:33 p.m. – an unknown actor purchased an airline ticket using the victim’s personal information.
  • Disorderly Conduct in the 1300 block of West Chester Pike on Aug. 5 at 9:40 a.m. – a 54-year-old male, 100 block of 54th Street, Philadelphia, was cited.
  • Fraud in the unit block of Terry Circle on Aug. 5 at 10:10 a.m. – victim was contacted by an unknown actor explaining that there was a problem with her social security payments; victim did exchange money

  • 27-year-old male, 900 block of Flanders Road, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road. Date: July 22 at 2:22 p.m.
  • 21-year-old male, unit block of Pine Street, Newtown Square. Charges: Fleeing from police, reckless driving and red light violation. Location: West Chester Pike and Gilmore Road. Date: July 25 at 2:22 a.m.
  • 30-year-old female, 6300 block of Elmwood Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Bad checks and forgery. Location: TD Bank, 100 block of W. Eagle Road. Date: July 25 at 5:16 p.m.
  • 23-year-old female, 1700 block of Bright Shore Way, Severance CO. Charges: Warrant. Location: 100 block of E. Park Road. Date: July 30 at 1:28 p.m.
  • 50-year-old male, 100 block of Fairview Road, Woodlyn. Charges: DUI. Location: Paddock and Woodleigh Roads. Date: Aug. 4 at 4:06 a.m.
