DUI Crackdown This Weekend In 5 Delco Municipalities
The Northern Delaware County DUI Task force has arrested 179 drivers for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs since its launch.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — Impaired drivers: you're on notice.
This weekend, the Northern Delaware County DUI Taskforce is conducting roving DUI patrols.
The patrols will take place Friday through Sunday in Haverford, Marple, Newtown, Radnor and Springfield townships.

Police from those municipalities comprise the task force, which was founded in September 2009.
To date, the task force has completed 113 operations.

Statistics from these DUI enforcement operations include 179 drivers arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, 47 citations for underage drinking, 1,229 citations and 1,834 warnings for other motor vehicle violations.
The purpose of the Northern Delaware County DUI Taskforce is to save lives on the roadways and reduce injuries by aggressively enforcing DUI laws.
Sobriety checkpoints are a proactive visual deterrent while also removing impaired drivers; roving patrols are traffic details with the main goals to spot and stop possible impaired drivers before they can cause harm to innocent unsuspecting motorists traveling on our roadways.
The Northern Delaware County DUI Taskforce reminds all drivers over 21 years old to be responsible and never operate a motor vehicle while impaired.
