Foundation Board member Lillian Mittleman co-chairs the Summer Academy planning committee. “I wanted my own kids to have access to fun and interesting activities during the summer and I hadn't found many reasonably-priced choices for this age group,” she said. “Summer should be relaxed but it's a long time for us all to be home together. The kids gets bored. The Haverford teachers came through with a lot of fun ideas that my kids want to try. This will help me and, I hope, a lot of parents in the same boat.”
Lynnewood Principal Susan Mingey, Curriculum Director Nick Rotoli, Brian Barrett and Mary Beth Lauer, all members of the Education Foundation board are also on the Summer Academy planning committee.
Summer Academy 2012 is sponsored by the HTSD Education Foundation. No course credit will be issued for completing these classes. The Ed Foundation is an independent non-profit that cultivates innovative learning opportunities that inspire and motivate Haverford Township students.
