This is a “One Night Stand” that you’ll want to remember! On Friday, May 18 from 6-9 pm, Main Line Art Center invites emerging artists, ages 21-35, to show and sell their work completely commission free. The fun event will feature live music from Huey & the Banjo, refreshments, and for an added fee, a BBQ cookout. One Night Stand is free and open to the public to attend, and none of the work will be priced over $350.
This is the sixth year that the Art Center, now celebrating its 75th anniversary, has held One Night Stand. Each year the Art Center attracts more and young photographers, painters, potters, jewelers and mixed media artists…and each year the crowds come out to discover the “next big artists.” Judy Herman, Executive Director, believes strongly in supporting the next generation of artists, and feels that the community can only benefit.
“One Night Stand is an amazing opportunity for the community to see what’s happening in the local art scene right now,” she says. “Many of these young artists are beginning their careers, and we’re thrilled to give them a venue to show their work. For those attending, you’ll certainly want to bring your checkbook because the work will not only be wonderful, it will be affordable!”
During One Night Stand, the Art Center will host a spring barbeque in the garden, with burgers and dogs with all the fixins’, and something for vegetarians too! To reserve your tickets, please call Anisa Haidary at 610.525.0272 x13. Members of the Art Center are free, and non-Members are only $5 each.
