Ex Delco State Rep Margo Davidson Pleads Guilty To Theft

As a result of her plea, Davidson has been barred from ever holding public office in Pennsylvania again.

DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — A former state representative whose district covered part of Delaware County has pleaded guilty to stealing from the state, Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced Thursday.

Shapiro said Margo Davidson, who resigned as the representative for Pennsylvania's 164th legislative district, pleaded guilty to theft by deception, solicitation to hindering apprehension or prosecution, reporting by candidate and political committee, and organization of political committees.

Davidson — whose district included Upper Darby, Lansdowne, and Yeadon — was charged in July, when she also resigned from public office and paid full restitution of $6,925.

"With her actions, Davidson betrayed both her constituents and her oath of office," Shapiro said. "Today is further proof that no one is above the law and that everyone who holds office in Pennsylvania is accountable to the law and the people."
