Five Key COVID Metrics Rise In Delaware County
With friends and family planning to gather for the holidays, coronavirus cases and more are rising in Delaware County.
DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — As the holiday season ramps up, Delaware County is seeing more and more cases of the coronavirus, higher positive testing rate, increased hospitalizations and more.
According to data from the state, five of the six key metrics measuring the impact of coronavirus in Delaware County have increased from Nov. 12 to Nov. 19.
The only metric to see a decrease was the average daily number of coronavirus patients on ventilators. That figure went down from 6 to 3.3.

New cases went up from 514 to 572.
The incidence rate per 100,000 people increased from 90.7 to 100.9.

Delaware County's positive testing rate nearly reached 6 percent, going up from 5.5 percent to 5.9 percent.
Average daily coronavirus hospitalizations went up from 25 to 26.9
Lastly, the percent of people showing up to hospital emergency rooms with coronavirus-like illnesses increased from 1.4 percent to 1.7 percent.
As of Sunday, Delaware County has 314,815 fully vaccinated residents. Additionally, 56,814 people have received a third dose of the vaccine since Aug. 13.
To date, 56,211 people in Delaware County have had the coronavirus and 1,522 people in the county have died from the coronavirus.
