Fraud, Theft, Drugs, More: Haverford Police Blotter

A scammer claiming to be from PECO was able to get $1,097 out of a Haverford Township resident, police said. See the full blotter here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township recently released their latest crime blotter.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between June 5 and June 11.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Theft at the 1900 block of Darby Road on June 5 at 10:50 p.m. – Victim reported prescription medication, designer handbags and sunglasses were stolen from her apartment.
  • Fraud at the 6200 block of Parkview Drive on June 5 at 10:35 a.m. – Victim reported multiple unauthorized purchases made with her credit card.
  • Theft at the 100 block of W. Eagle Road on June 5 at 3:47 p.m. – Power washer was stolen from the side of the apartment.
  • Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on June 5 at 1:21 p.m. – An unknown male stole a Lego set valued at $49.99.
  • Identity Theft at the 2200 block of Parkview Drive on June 6 at 11:16 a.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access to his American Airlines account and cashed out 70,000 miles valued at $700.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 1400 block of Windsor Park Lane on June 7 at 8:29 a.m. – Vehicle window was shattered.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Whitemarsh Road on June 7 at 3:01 p.m. – Victim reported that he received a call from a person claiming to be from the Delaware County Sheriff’s office demanding payment for an open case. The victim provided the payment before he recognized the scam.
  • Theft at the unit block of James Drive on June 7 at 6:04 p.m. – Victim reported that a package containing an i-phone was stolen after it was delivered.
  • Criminal Mischief at Lowe’s, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on June 8 at 2:24 p.m. – Vehicle was keyed.
  • Theft at the 1600 block of Melrose Avenue on June 9 at 9:55 a.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from his vehicle.
  • Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of N. Eagle Road, on June 9 at 3:56 p.m. – Forced entry was made into a locker – a wallet containing $60, numerous credit cards and a driver’s license was stolen.
  • Fraud at the 800 block of Beechwood Road on June 10 at 6:20 p.m. – Victim reported that he received a call from a person claiming to be from PECO. The caller stated that he was behind on payments and his services would be turned off if he did not make payment immediately. The victim paid $1,097 via Zelle before recognizing the scam.
  • Theft at the 2300 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue on June 10 at 8:32 a.m. – Vehicle window was smashed - $6.00 was stolen from the console.
  • Attempted Theft at the 2300 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue on June 10 at 8:43 a.m. – Vehicle window was smashed out – nothing was reported missing.
  • Theft at the 2400 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue on June 10 at 9:53 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – two wallets were stolen. The wallets contained $160 and credit cards. Two unauthorized purchases were made with the credit cards.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Benedict Avenue on June 11 at 9:51 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used the victim’s identity to open a T-Mobile account.
  • Theft at Haverford Middle School, 1700 block of Darby Road, on June 11 at 2:57 p.m. – Electric scooter was stolen.

  • 37-year-old female, 6100 block of Algard Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft, public drunkenness, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Acme, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: June 8 at 4:05 p.m.
  • 37-year-old male, 3600 block of Miller Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: June 9 at 5:15 p.m. Date: May 7 at 7:45 p.m.
  • 54-year-old female, 100 block of Madison Avenue, Upper Darby. Charges: Possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: 1300 block of Annabella Avenue. Date: May 7 at 2:15 p.m. Incident occurred on Dec. 19, 2023.
