Group To Give Meals For 1,000 People In Havertown Saturday
Drexel Hill-based non-profit Grands Stepping Up will host its second annual Thanksgiving meal distribution Saturday in Havertown.
HAVERTOWN, PA — This weekend, a local non-profit group that supports those raising their grandchildren is hosting its second annual Thanksgiving meal distribution in Havertown.
Drexel Hill-based Grands Stepping Up Saturday will distribute meals for an estimated 200 families — about 1,000 people — as part of its annual event.
Meals will be given out from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Llanerch Hills Chapel, 1216 Myrtlewood Ave. in Havertown.

Non-perishable foods, and other items such as foil pans, paper products, $25 food store gift cards, desserts, and cash donations via PayPal, CashApp, and Venmo (@GrandsSteppingUp) are sought to assist Grands Stepping Up's mission to feed local families.
Items can be dropped off at the Denis food pantry, 1216 Myrtlewood Ave., from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Grands Stepping Up is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that provides assistance to grandparents and kinship guardians who are raising their grandchildren.
They started by helping 20 grandparents and now they are helping 75.
Within the group’s Llanerch Hills Chapel location, Grands Stepping Up has a room for food, a baby pantry, baby items, clothing, and small household items.
The organization has created a legal fund, a housing and utilities fund, and a youth activities fund, and they are currently petitioning for an emergency fund.
Additional services include a trauma-based family counseling program and both adult and youth volunteer programs.
