Haverford Assistant Principal Moving to Neumann School

A local administrator will take over at the John Neuman School.

John Neumann School announced today that Cathleen Lamberto has been selected as the new principal of the school, beginning in the 2012-2013 school year.

Lamberto has served as an educator for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for 23 years. For the past two years she served as Assistant Principal at Annunciation B.V.M. School in Havertown, and was employed there for a total of 13 years. Prior to Annunciation B.V.M. School, Lamberto taught at St. Francis of Assisi and St. Gabriel in Delaware County, and at Visitation B.V.M. and Ascension of Our Lord in Philadelphia.

Lamberto holds a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph’s University and is completing her master’s degree in elementary education from Cabrini College. She was selected to lead SS. Colman-John Neumann after a thorough search and interview process in which a number of candidates were considered for appointment.

“Cathleen has a proven track record of success in Catholic education, and her qualities and leadership skills make her the perfect fit for our school. We are excited about the positive impact she will have on our students, staff, the school program and our community,” said Father James McKeaney, pastor of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

Lamberto resides in Springfield with her husband Domenic and daughters Melissa, Lauren and Kimberly.

While many area parochial schools are closing, SS. Colman-John Neumann School is expanding and modernizing with an eye toward future growth. A state-of-the-art gymnasium, a new Pre-Kindergarten program, additional classrooms, and a new parish life center are currently under construction and will be completed in time for the 2013-2014 school year.
