Haverford Basketball Raises Nearly $2K For Cancer Group

The Haverford High School Boys and Girls Basketball teams helped to raise nearly $2,000 for the Coaches vs. Cancer group this month.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – Boys and girls basketball players at Haverford High School showed their community mindedness recently by raising nearly $2,000 for a cancer group.

The Haverford High School Boys and Girls Basketball teams helped to raise $1,986 this month for the Coaches vs. Cancer school initiative program, the School District of Haverford Township said.

Players from both teams helped to organize and manage a play day at Haverford High School for local youth teams in the district.

For the past 25 years, the Coaches vs. Cancer program, in collaboration with the National Association of Basketball Coaches, has united coaches and fans nationwide to help the American Cancer Society defeat a common enemy – cancer.
