Haverford College Professor Charged With Cyberstalking After Antisemitic Threats: Feds

The professor used anonymous accounts to threaten the victim on social media over the span of several months, authorities said.

HAVERFORD, PA — A Haverford College professor was arrested Tuesday after federal authorities and school officials say he made antisemitic threats on social media over the span of several months.

From October 2025 to this past May, the victim received dozens of threatening messages from anonymous accounts on social-media platform X.

Investigators traced the accounts back to Guantian Ha — a professor at Haverford College — according to a federal indictment charging him with cyberstalking.

The indictment includes several alleged posts containing antisemitic threats, including "Your family has no future in the US. Give it another 10 years, and you shall see a true holocaust."

Ha also made public posts with the victim's address, authorities said.

Officials didn't disclose whether Ha had any personal connection to the victim.

Ha is an assistant professor of religion at Haverford College, according to a bio on the college's website.

He's been placed on administrative leave and banned from campus as the criminal process plays out. Ha was on sabbatical leave before the arrest and hasn't taught this semester, according to Haverford College President Wendy Raymond.

"I am deeply distressed by these allegations and want to state in the plainest of terms that any form of harassment or discrimination based on identity is unacceptable, antithetical to our values, and has no place at Haverford," Raymond said in a letter to the college community.

Raymond thanked the FBI, Campus Safety and Haverford Township Police for helping with the investigation.

Ha was charged by indictment Sept. 30 with cyberstalking. The indictment was unsealed Tuesday, when he was arrested.

A detention hearing is set for Friday.

Ha didn't have a listed attorney in online court records who could comment on his behalf on Wednesday.
