Haverford Crime Blotter: Aggravated Assault, Fraud, Theft, More

Police said several hundred dollars worth of plumbing equipment was stolen following a burglary at Haverford College. See details here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between March 16 and March 22.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Identity Theft at the 100 block of Warrior Road on March 16 at 3:30 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to file for unemployment benefits in July 2021. Yesterday, she was notified that someone used her identity to open a bank account.
  • Burglary at Haverford College, 300 block of Lancaster Avenue, on March 17 at 1:50 p.m. – Forced entry was made to the basement of James House, $1,440 in plumbing equipment was stolen.
  • Public Drunkenness at Manoa and Shelbourne Roads on March 17 at 5:23 p.m. – 70-year-old male, 200 block of North Manoa Road, was cited for public drunkenness.
  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of East Eagle Road on March 18 at 10:05 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to file for unemployment benefits.
  • Vandalism at the 200 block of Warrior Road on March 18 at 9:17 a.m. – Victim observed damage to their front door. It appears to have been slightly kicked in.
  • Theft at the 1000 block of Darby Road on March 19 at 5:44 p.m. – Victim reported that someone stole his wallet when he set it on the counter. He later discovered a $500 cash withdraw from his bank account.
  • Theft at Sunoco, 400 block of East Township Line Road, on March 19 at 3:25 p.m. – Victim reported that he left his wallet at the gas station. A customer found the wallet and turned it in to the employee. $308 was missing from the wallet.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of South Eagle Road on March 19 at 5:26 p.m. – Victim reported two unauthorized purchases made with her debit card.
  • Aggravated Assault at the 1200 block of West Chester Pike on March 20 at 1:58 a.m. – A shooting occurred. Victim suffered a gunshot wound to the ankle. Investigation ongoing.
  • Fraud at the 2300 block of Wast Darby Road on March 21 at 2:06 p.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Identity Theft at the 500 block of East Manoa Road on March 21 at 1:16 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a PayPal account and made $419.66 worth of purchases.
  • Identity Theft at the 3000 block of Hermosa Lane on March 21 at 3:50 p.m. – An unknown person attempted to take out a loan using the victim’s identity.
  • Vandalism at the 200 block of Valley Ridge Road on March 21 at 9:33 a.m. – Victim observed writing on her garage door.
  • Fraud at the 200 block of Mill Road on March 22 at 9 a.m. – Victim reported multiple unauthorized purchases made from her business bank account.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Stockton Road on March 22 at 9:41 a.m. – Victim reported four unauthorized purchases made from her checking account.
  • Fraud at the 200 block of Brookline Boulevard on March 22 at 11:53 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Fraud at the unit block of East Marthart Avenue on March 22 at 1:29 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Columbus Avenue on March 22 at 3:32 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a bank account and deposited three of her retirement checks.

ARRESTS

  • 22-year-old female, 100 block of Grandview Road, Ardmore. Charges: DUI, careless driving and period for requiring lighted lamps. Location: Haverford Road and College Avenue. Date: March 17 at 3:33 a.m.
  • 40-year-old male, 1400 block of Virginia Avenue, Havertown. Charges: Accidents involving damage to attended vehicle, suspended driver’s license and careless driving. Location: West Chester Pike and Robinson Avenue. Date: March 19 at 8:38 p.m., incident occurred on Feb. 15.
  • 42-year-old female, unit block of Sycamore Street, Wilmington, Delaware. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: March 20 at 5:02 p.m.
  • 42-year-old male, 1000 block of Edmonds Avenue, Drexel Hill. Charges: Aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, DUI and disorderly conduct. Location: 1100 block of West Chester Pike Date: March 20 at 3:58 a.m.
  • 41-year-old male, 6500 block of Belmar Avenue, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike. Date: March 21 at 8:48 p.m.
