Haverford Crime Blotter: Assault, Fraud, Theft, More

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Feb. 2 and Feb. 8.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

INCIDENTS

• Retail Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 2 at 10:43 a.m. – Two unknown males stole $2,545.06 worth of electrical wire.
• Fraud at the 1000 block of Edgewood Road on Feb. 2 at 7:40 p.m. – Victim reported that a check for $81.25 was altered after she mailed it. The same check was cashed for the amount of $10,127.
• Fraud at the 200 block of Lone Oak Drive on Feb. 3 at 9:40 a.m. – Victim reported multiple unauthorized transactions on his checking account.
• Theft at the 300 block of Glen Gary Drive on Feb. 3 at 1:40 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – nothing was reported missing.
• Fraud at the 400 block of Olympic Avenue on Feb. 3 at 2:03 p.m. – Victim reported four unauthorized withdraws were made from her checking account.
• Retail Theft at Xfinity, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 4 at 2:06 p.m. – An unknown male stole two iPhones from the display and fled.
• Criminal Mischief at the 200 block of Heatherwood Road on Feb. 4 at 12:03 p.m. – Fence was damaged.
• Public Drunkenness at McDonalds, 1200 block of West Chester Pike, on Feb. 4 at 1:59 p.m. – 28-year-old male, 1200 block of Wilde Avenue, Drexel Hill was cited for public drunkenness.
• Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Feb. 5 at 12:54 p.m. – An unknown female stole merchandise and fled the store.
• Theft at the 2000 block of Laurel Road on Feb. 5 at 1:15 p.m. – The victim was scammed out of $1,000 from a website claiming to sell puppies. The victim became aware of the scam when they requested an additional $5,000.
• Retail Theft at Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike, on Feb. 7 at 4:32 p.m. – An unknown male stole numerous articles of clothing and fled the store.
• Fraud at the 1500 block of Ashton Road on Feb. 7 at 7:06 p.m. – Victim received a phone call from an unknown male claiming to be from Amazon. The actor advised him that he had 30 outstanding charges against his account and that he needed to purchase Apple and Giant gift cards. The victim provided the caller with the gift card information before recognizing the scam.
• Theft at the 100 block of Eagle Road on Feb. 8 at 9:36 a.m. – A package was stolen from the victim’s porch after it was delivered.
• Fraud at the 300 block of Valley Road on Feb. 8 at 8:38 a.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered after he mailed it.
• Identity Theft at the 200 block of Glen Gary Road on Feb. 8 at 12:07 p.m. – Victim reported that there have been four separate incidents of someone attempted to use his identity. The most recent incident someone opened a checking and savings account using his identity.

ARRESTS

• 35-year-old male, Homeless. Charges: Contempt for violation of order. Location: 200 block of Frederick Road. Date: Feb. 2 at 3:10 p.m.
• 37-year-old male, 400 block of Llanerch Avenue. Charges: Aggravated assault, simple assault, strangulation, possession of an instrument of crime, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person and harassment. Location: 400 block of Llanerch Avenue. Date: Feb. 3 at 10:04 a.m.
• 33-year-old male, 600 block of Ashbury Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft and false identification to law enforcement. Location: Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road. Date: Feb. 4 at 4:34 p.m.
• 30-year-old male, unit block of Thorn Lane, New Castle, Delaware. Charges: Retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: Lowe’s. Date: Feb. 4 at 4:34 p.m.
• 22-year-old male, 800 block of Hanover Street, Pottstown. Charges: Retail theft, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Lowe’s. Date: Feb. 4 at 12:19 p.m.
• 25-year-old male, 300 block of Jefferson Street, Bridgeport. Charges: Receiving stolen property, access device fraud, identity theft, false identification to law enforcement and theft of services. Location: Crossbar, 2200 block of Darby Road,
• Date: Feb. 5 at 9:17 p.m.
• 22-year-old male, 2600 block of Wendy Road, Havertown. Charges: DUI. Location: Colfax and Woodleigh Roads. Date: Feb. 5 at 5:30 p.m.
• 53-year-old male, 2300 block of Gratz Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: Kohl’s, 200 block of West Chester Pike. Date: Feb. 6 at 3:41 p.m.
• 58-year-old male, 800 block of 45th Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft. Location: Lowe’s. Date: Feb. 6 at 11:47 a.m.
