Haverford Crime Blotter: Check Fraud, Theft, Assault, More

Police reported several instances of identity theft where the victims' identities were used to open bank, credit card, and other accounts.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their newest crime blotter recently.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between April 20 and April 26.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Theft at the unit block of Hannum Drive on April 20 at 7 p.m. – Catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle.
  • Theft at Giant, 100 block of W. Township Line Road, on April 20 at 5 p.m. – Victim reported that her purse was stolen while she was shopping. Her purse was later recovered on Lancaster Avenue. Her credit cards were missing and multiple unauthorized purchases were made totaling $159.
  • Identity Theft at the 300 block of Harvest Lane on April 20 at 12:21 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to open a credit card account.
  • Fraud at the 1100 block of Bon Air Road on April 21 at 8:47 a.m. – Victim reported a check was altered after it was mailed. The bank did not cash the cash.
  • Theft at 7-Eleven, 100 block of Eagle Road, on April 22 at 2:48 a.m. – Two unknown males stole lottery tickets and cigarettes.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Garlor Drive on April 23 at 10:11 a.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Identity Theft at the 200 block of Stanley Avenue on April 23 at 3:13 p.m. – Someone used the victim’s identity to open an AT&T account.
  • Theft at the unit block of S. Eagle Road on April 24 at 1:21 a.m. – An employee reported that approximately $1,600 was taken from the cash register.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 300 block of Virginia Avenue on April 24 at 9 a.m. – Residence was egged.
  • Public Drunkenness at the unit block of Shelbourne Road on April 24 at 10:59 p.m. – 25-year-old male, unit block of Maryland Avenue and 28-year-old male, unit block of Upland Road were cited for public drunkenness.
  • Bicycle Theft at Haverford Middle School, 1700 block of Darby Road, on April 25 at 3:20 p.m.
  • Vandalism at Merry Place, 600 block of Glendale Road, on April 25 at 7:16 a.m. – Graffiti was discovered in the public restroom, bridge, retaining wall and the ground.
  • Identity Theft at the 1400 block of Burmont Road on April 26 at 3:11 p.m. – Victim reported several bank accounts were opened using his identity.
  • Fraud at the 1600 block of Robinson Avenue on April 26 at 3:24 p.m. – Several unauthorized purchases were made with the victim’s credit cards.
  • Fraud at the 500 block of Darby Road on April 26 at 5:30 p.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Identity Theft at the 100 block of Signal Road on April 26 at 6:57 p.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a bank account using his identity.

ARRESTS

  • 36-year-old male, 2100 block of Ann Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft, receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: CVS, 1100 block of West Chester Pike. Date: April 21 at 4:30 p.m.
  • 68-year-old male, 3400 block of Reach Street, Philadelphia. Charges: Retail theft, receiving stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. Location: CVS, 1100 block of West Chester Pike. Date: April 21 at 4:30 p.m.
  • 80-year-old female, 700 block of Ardmore Avenue, Ardmore. Charges: Simple assault. Location: 700 block of Ardmore Avenue. Date: April 24 at 5:52 p.m.
