Haverford Crime Blotter: Fraud, Theft, Vandalism, More

Police in Haverford Township said two men tried to steal nearly $1,300 worth of items from the Giant store on West Township Line Road.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between Feb. 23 and March 1.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Fraud at the 300 block of Kathmere Road on Feb. 23 at 8:33 a.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of Langhorne Avenue on Feb. 23 at 1:35 p.m. – Victim reported that someone used his identity to apply for a loan and attempted to make unauthorized purchases with his debit card.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Princeton Road on Feb. 25 at 1:10 p.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after he mailed it.
  • Fraud at the unit block of Marthart Avenue on Feb. 25 at 3:17 p.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered after he mailed it. The check was unable to be cashed due to insufficient funds so no loss has occurred.
  • Vandalism at the unit block of Media Avenue on Feb. 26 at 9:37 p.m. – Residence was egged.
  • Attempted Theft at Giant, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 27 at 2:48 p.m. – Loss prevention officer reported that two unknown males attempted to steal $1,292.64 worth of groceries. The actors left the shopping carts when they were confronted by an employee.
  • Criminal Mischief at the CREC, 9000 block of Parkview Drive, on Feb. 27 at 1:33 p.m. – Vehicle was keyed.
  • Theft at Panera Bread, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 28 at 3:54 p.m. – Victim reported that six credit cards were stolen from her wallet while she was eating lunch. Multiple unauthorized purchases were made with the credit cards.
  • Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on Feb. 28 at 3:24 p.m. – Victim reported that her wallet containing credit cards and $45 was stolen from her shopping cart. An unauthorized purchase was attempted at Kohl’s.
  • Theft at Rite Aid, 1300 block of West Chester Pike, on Feb. 28 at 6:57 p.m. – An unknown male stole $111 worth of merchandise.
  • Fraud at the 700 block of Humphreys Road on Feb. 28 at 11:44 a.m. – Victim reported that someone altered her check after she mailed it and withdrew $3,972.11 from her bank account.
  • Fraud at the 300 block of Buck Lane on Feb. 28 at 3:56 p.m. – Victim reported that someone altered her check after she mailed it and withdrew $8,083.27.
  • Identity Theft at the 1700 block of Josie Lane on Feb. 28 at 9:36 a.m. – Victim reported that someone used her identity to open a credit card account.
  • Theft at Lowe’s, 100 block of West Township Line Road, on March 1 at 8:07 p.m. – Victim reported that his iPad was stolen from the shopping cart while he shopped.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Juniper Road on March 1 at 7:15 p.m. – Prescription medication was stolen after it was delivered.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Heatherwood Road on March 1 at 3:59 p.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Fraud at the 100 block of Strathmere Road on March 1 at 5:20 p.m. – Victim reported that a check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 100 block of Glen Arbor Road on March 1 at 3 p.m. – Residence was egged.

ARRESTS

  • 70-year-old male, 1400 block of Wynnewood Road, Ardmore. Charges: DUI. Location: 2600 block of Haverford Road. Date: Feb. 27 at 8:26 p.m.
  • 64-year-old male, unit block of Mercer Avenue, Havertown. Charges: DUI and careless driving. Location: Darby and Manor Roads. Date: March 1 at 10:50 p.m.
