Haverford Crime Blotter: Vandalism, Forgery, Counterfeiting, More

Police reported six checks were altered and fraudulently cashed after being stolen from mail boxes in the past week. Full details here.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — Police in Haverford Township issued their weekly crime blotter Wednesday.

Incidents in the blotter occurred between June 8 and June 14.

The blotter also includes arrests made and citations issued.

  • Counterfeit at M & M Wheelers, 600 block of West Lancaster Avenue, on June 8 at noon – The owner reported that an unknown male paid for his merchandise with a counterfeit $100 bill.
  • Fraud at the 600 block of Paddock Road on June 8 at 9:20 p.m. – Victim reported an unauthorized purchase with his credit card.
  • Theft at the unit block of Glenn Terrace on June 8 at 10:28 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Disorderly Conduct at the 2300 block of Oakmont Avenue on June 8 at 9:44 p.m. – 64-year-old male, 2300 block of Belvedere Avenue, was cited for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
  • Theft at the 400 block of Spring Road on June 9 at 8:10 a.m. – Victim reported that a Stihl TS420 demolition saw was stolen from a trailer.
  • Theft at the 100 block of Morlyn Avenue on June 9 at 10:58 a.m. – Unlocked vehicle was entered – A wallet containing $600, credit cards and driver's license was stolen.
  • Criminal Mischief at the 1200 block of West Township Line Road on June 9 at 2:14 a.m. – While on patrol, an officer discovered graffiti on the rear wall of the business.
  • Theft at the 200 block of Golf Hills Road on June 10 at 11:38 a.m. – Boxes containing an outdoor furniture set was stolen from the porch.
  • Forgery at the 700 block of Beechwood Road on June 10 at 9:21 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Identity Theft at the 2400 block of Rosewood Lane on June 10 at 11:44 a.m. – Victim reported a $203 withdrawn from an ATM without his permission or knowledge.
  • Identity Theft at the unit block of West Eagle Road on June 10 at 11:48 a.m. – Victim reported two ATM withdraws that he did not make.
  • Identity Theft at the 1700 block of Lawrence Road on June 10 at 1:44 p.m. – Victim reported that $1,000 was withdrawn from an ATM via seven separate transactions. The victim had the physical debit card and no other persons are authorized to use it.
  • Forgery at the 100 block of Merrybrook Drive on June 11 at 11:46 a.m. – A check was altered and cashed after it was mailed.
  • Theft at the YMCA, 800 block of North Eagle Road, on June 12 at 10:37 a.m. – Vehicle window was smashed – a wallet containing credit cards and $200 was stolen.
  • Bicycle Theft at the unit block of Hannum Drive on June 12 at 4:32 p.m.
  • Forgery at the 800 block of Naylors Run Road on June 12 at 9:45 a.m. – Two checks were altered and cashed after they were mailed.
  • Criminal Mischief at Paddock Park, 200 block of West Hillcrest Avenue, on June 12 at 11 a.m. – The public restroom was vandalized. Trash was strew about, the sink had items in it and the toilet was clogged with debris and trash.
  • Vandalism at Merwood Park, 2500 block of Wynnefield Drive, on June 12 at 10:59 a.m. – Police observed explicit and derogatory graffiti that was spray-painted on multiple areas of the park.
  • Identity Theft at the 600 block of Woodland Drive on June 13 at 12:19 p.m. – Victim reported that someone opened a checking account using his identity.
  • Fraud at the 800 block of Merion Avenue on June 14 at 1:10 p.m. – Victim reported that someone gained access into her American Airlines account and used her accrued miles.

ARRESTS:

  • 19-year-old male, unit block of East Eagle Road, Havertown. Charges: Public drunkenness, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Location: 1700 block of Darby Road. Date: June 10 at 9:13 p.m.
  • 36-year-old male, 200 block of North 2nd Avenue, Broomall. Charges: DUI, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Location: West Chester Pike and Lawrence Road. Date: June 11 at 7:56 a.m.
  • 39-year-old male, 900 block of East Railroad Avenue, Bryn Mawr. Charges: DUI and careless driving. Location: Buck Lane and Haverford Road. Date: June 11 at 8:58 p.m.
  • 26-year-old male, 100 block of Bishop Avenue, Clifton Heights. Charges: DUI, restrictions on alcoholic beverages, possession of marijuana and
  • drug paraphernalia. Location: East Township Line Road and West Chester Pike. Date: June 11 at 5:31 a.m.
  • 41-year-old female, 2600 block of Jacqeline Drive, Wilmington, Delaware. Charges: DUI. Location: unit block of Ellis Road. Date: June 12 at 3:08 a.m.
