Haverford, Havertown Residents Can Participate In E-Waste Collection Event Saturday

Read on to see what electronic items are and aren't accepted.

Delaware County residents can benefit from an electronic waste collection event scheduled this weekend at Montgomery County Community College.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17 at the Montgomery County Community College Blue Bell Campus, 340 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, residents in Delaware County can get rid of their electronic garbage.

Items that will be accepted include cathode ray tube (CRT) and flat screen TVs; computer monitors; computers; printers; cables; servers; video game consoles; cell phones; cameras; radios; dorm fridges; and microwaves.

Items NOT accepted include Freon and liquid containing items such as full size fridges, air conditioners, etc.; batteries; medical equipment; cassette tapes; e-cigarettes; light bulbs; and other items at event staff discretion.

No broken CRT material will be accepted either.

Only three TVs per vehicle will be accepted.

Any items containing data, such as personal information, will be transported securely and wiped clean of any existing data on the items.

With winter weather expected for this weekend, anyone who is looking to participate in the event should call (610) 278-3618 to find out if Saturday's even has been cancelled due to snow or ice.

To access the e-waste event, enter the college at 595 Cathcart Road and head to the college's central lot where the event will be held.
