Haverford High School Gets New Assistant Principal

Jerry Ummarino comes from the Pottstown School District.

The Haverford Township Board of School Directors approved the appointment of Jerry Ummarino as the new assistant principal of .

The appointment is effective on approximately Aug. 6, 2012 and Ummarino will receive a pro-rated salary of $116,000, according to the superintendent’s report.

The assistant principal position at the high school was left empty for two years as a cost-saving measure, but the school district is able to resume funding the position with savings from the high school, School Board President Denis Grayand Superintendent William Keilbaugh said at the Thursday night meeting.

Ummarino has eight years of experience as an assistant principal, Keilbaugh said. He has spent the last five years working as an assistant principal in the Pottstown School District, Keilbaugh added.
