Haverford Hosting Food Drive For Martin Luther King Jr Day

HAVERTOWN, PA — A food drive is being held on Martin Luther King Jr. Day in Haverford Township.
The township is teaming up with the Haverford Education Foundation for a non-perishable food, paper product, and other item collection drive on Monday, Jan. 17.
Items can be dropped off from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 17 in the Haverford Middle School bus lane, 1701 Darby Road in Havertown.

All items will be donated to the Community Action Agency of Delaware County, Temple Lutheran Church Food Pantry, Denis' Closet and Food Pantry, and other local organizations.
All items should be placed in a paper or re-usable bag or box and then in the back seat or trunk of your vehicle for collection.

Volunteers are also needed to help out at the event.
Volunteers will assist with set up, traffic control, organizing supplies, pulling donations from vehicles, clean up, dropping off donations, and more. On-site safety training for new volunteers will be provided. Volunteers will be required to complete a health screening on the day of the event.
Volunteers will be needed before and after the event, and will be contacted before the event with precise information about where to meet and what to bring.
