Haverford Middle School Kids Possibly Exposed To Whooping Cough
Students at the Haverford Middle School may have been exposed to pertussis, better known as whooping cough.

HAVERTOWN, PA — Officials with the School District of Haverford Township are warning parents that students at one of its schools may have been exposed to whooping cough.
Haverford Middle School Principal Daniel Horan issued a letter recommended by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to parents and guardians notifying them of the potential exposure, according to the district and CBS Philadelphia.
The district said due to HIPPA regulations, it can only share certain details on the case.

Whooping cough, which is the common name for pertussis, is a respiratory illness that is spread through the air.

According to CBS, Horan told parents and guardians if a child has symptoms of whooping cough, which includes cold symptoms and a cough, they should not be in school until they have been checked out by their doctor.
