Haverford Police K9 Gets Bullet, Stab Protective Vest

Non-profit group Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. recently delivered the new vest for Haverford Police K9 Bodhi.

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA — One of the fuzzier members of the Haverford Township Police Department got some new gear to keep him safe when responding to incidents.

Haverford Police K9 Bodhi was recently given a new bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a non-profit group that supports police K9s across the nation.

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. gave Bodhi his new U.S. made, custom fitted vest.

The vest is embroidered with "Born to Love-Trained to Serve-Loyal Always."

Bodhi's vest was mad possible through a donation by Rich and Cynthia Haterius of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The group has been working since 2009 to provide vests to K9 units and to date has donated more than 4,500 vests to units in all 50 states.

Each vest is valued between $1,744 and $2,283. They weigh an average of 4 to 5 pounds, and come with a five-year warranty.
