Haverford School District Looking To Fill Vacant Board Seat​

HAVERFORD TOWNSHIP, PA – A vacant seat on the School District of Haverford Township Board of School Directors needs to be filled and interested residents can apply to be considered for the seat now.

The board is taking applications to fill the vacancy through 4 p.m., Monday, Jan. 8.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old, a United States citizen, and have lived in Haverford Township for at least one year.

A resume, cover letter, and responses to the questions posted below must be submitted to the Board Secretary James Devereaux at jdevereaux@haverfordsd.net.

At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, the Board of School Directors will hold a public meeting where they will select five candidates to make three-minute presentations to the board on Thursday, Jan. 18. The board will choose one person to fill the vacancy at that meeting.

• What ideas do you have to ensure that the School District curriculum and School Board policies meet the needs of all students, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or religion?
• In addition to being state required, is there a value to PSSA tests?
• What experiences or knowledge can you bring to the Board in the area of curriculum, finance and or facilities?
• Why would you like to be on the School Board?
